Are you ready to die?

Are You Ready to Die?

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27).

The two certainties in life are death… and the judgment. For the Bible says that it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this, the judgment. Just as absolutely certain that there is a day coming when you are going to die, there is an equal certainty of the reality of death’s sequel: the judgment. What is the judgment? It is the day when all mankind will stand before the great white throne of the Lord God Almighty. What will that day look like?

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:10-15).

Are you ready to die? One day, you and I are going to stand before the throne of God with every other member of humanity. On that day, God is going to open two books – the book of Life, and the book of the Law of God. To those who have never bowed their knee to the Lord Jesus Christ on the Earth, they will be judged by the things written in the God’s Law, and cast into the lake of fire, a place where they shall be, “shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Hell is a place of “outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt. 25:30). Some people don’t believe that a loving God could send people to hell, but I assure you that He will. However, God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell. Hell is a place that was created for the devil and his angels, not for mankind.

Second Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  God’s desire is that all men would repent of their sins, and receive His free gift of salvation, and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. How do we do that? By believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and calling on His name. Have you made your peace with God yet? There is a hell to shun, and a Heaven to gain! I plead with you – let go of your sin, and reach out for the Saviour. Call on the name of the Lord Jesus, and be saved from your sins. Then you will be ready to die – you will be ready for Heaven. Get ready. Trust me; you don’t want to miss Heaven.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4).
