The Precious Blood of Jesus

The Precious Blood of Jesus:

“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” (1 Peter 1:18-19).

When I was worshipping the Lord at church one day, I received a wonderful revelation of the blood of Jesus. Please, slowly and prayerfully read through this passage of Scripture. Then allow me to share with you what the Lord showed me.

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, no one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s judgment. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God – all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.” (Romans 5:6-11).

The Bible says that before Jesus came and died for us, we were sinners. We were utterly helpless. There was nothing we could do to save ourselves, and there was no one to help us. If we were good people, someone might have been willing to die for us, but we were not good. We were all sinners. Wicked and rebellious sinners. Enemies of the Most High God. Under God’s judgment and destined for eternal punishment. But thank God for the blood of Jesus.

The Bible says that God demonstrated His love for us by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners. What an amazing thought. God didn’t wait until we were good enough. He didn’t wait until we got our acts together. But while we were still sinners, God sent Jesus to die for us. Hebrews 9:22 says, “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.” That means that if Jesus hadn’t died for us, our sins could have never been forgiven. But because of the precious blood that Jesus shed for us on the Cross, let us rejoice in the condition we are in now.

  • Because of the blood of Jesus – we have been made right in God’s sight
  • Because of the blood of Jesus – we are saved from God’s judgment
  • Because of the blood of Jesus – we were restored to friendship with God
  • Because of the blood of Jesus – we are delivered from eternal punishment

Today, let us rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God – all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God. “from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood…to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5-6)

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,

In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Are your garments spotless?

Are they white as snow?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
