He’s Coming Again – Believe it or Not!

He’s Coming Again – Believe it…or Not:

“First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: “Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the world with a mighty flood. And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will perish.” (2 Peter 3:3-7).

We’re living in the last days – at the end of time. Although we don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus will return, the Bible does say that we will be able to recognize the season. That time is now. We’re living in a world where there are many ungodly mockers who laugh at the truth of God’s Word, and do every evil thing they desire. They deny the fact that Jesus is going to return, but whether they believe it or not, you can trust God’s Word. Any day now, the Lord could return from Heaven “with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God…we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever.” (1 Thess. 4:16-17). But there are many people who doubt this warning of Jesus!

“But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgment. Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be living.” (2 Peter 3:8-11).

For 2,000 years, the church of Jesus Christ has been waiting for our Lord to return and take us to Heaven to live with Him forever. Why hasn’t Jesus returned yet? He’s not being slow, as some people think. He hasn’t returned yet because He wants to give more people time to repent of their sins, and believe in Jesus. If you haven’t done so yet, won’t you put your faith in Him today? The second coming of Jesus will come without warning, and this time when He comes, He’s coming as the Judge of all the Earth. What kind of lives then should we live?

“For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with self-control, right conduct, and devotion to God, while we look forward to that wonderful event when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing what is right.” (Titus 2:11-14).

Jesus is coming to the Earth again, to judge the living and the dead. Let us turn from godless living and sinful pleasures, and live with self-control, right conduct and devotion to God. Why? Because we’re looking forward to that great event when Jesus Christ returns. What a day of rejoicing that will be! Are you ready for that day?
