Nothing is Too Difficult for the Lord

Nothing is Too Difficult for the Lord:

“Ah, Lord God. Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” (Jeremiah 32:17).

When I first became a Christian, I started attending a church called Solid Rock Ministries in Regina – back in the fall of 1990. One of the worship songs that we sang back then was based on the King James Version of the above Scripture, and it went something like this:

  • “Ah Lord God!  Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power
  • Ah Lord God! Thou has made the heavens and the earth by thine outstretched arm
  • Nothing is too difficult for thee, nothing is too difficult for thee
  • Great and mighty God, great in power and mighty in deed
  • Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing is too difficult for thee.”

(If you’re not familiar with the song, you can hear an original Hosanna Music recording of the song on youtube HERE).

Is not this an encouraging word today? You may be experiencing a difficult trial or situation, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Your family may be struggling financially, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. You or someone you love may be sick, and in need of healing, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Maybe you’re having problems at home, or problems at school or problems at work, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Maybe you are lonely, tired, afraid, or depressed, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord!

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going…That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9;16-17).

The middle portion of that Scripture in Second Corinthians, “We get knocked down, but we get up again” makes me think of a song that was really popular several years ago called Tubthumping that says, “I get knocked down, but I get up again, you ain’t never gonna keep me down.” I wonder if that song was based on this Scripture. Either way, it is an encouraging Scripture. Remember, nothing is too difficult for the Lord. “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27).

“The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” (Psalm 9:9).

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1).

Whatever you’re going through today, take your problems to the Lord. He is a shelter and a refuge in times of trouble. He is always ready to help. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you (1 Peter. 5:7). Remember: nothing is too difficult for the Lord!
